Cupping Therapy
20-minute session
$20-$40 sliding scale

Cupping is an ancient Chinese practice, during which, a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced (by using change in heat or by suctioning out air), so that the skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn into and held in the cup. This treatment is for people who are suffering from pain, respiratory issues, digestive issues, gynecological issues, colds, sleep disorders and facial paralysis. Marks are expected and will resolve within 5-7 days.

Gua Sha
15-minute bodywork session: $20-$40 sliding scale
30-minute facial session: $45

Gua Sha means "scraping bruises" and it is a traditional Chinese medical treatment that releases unhealthy elements from injured areas while stimulating blood flow and healing. A tool is used to "scrape" over a muscle or sore spot to help move toxins out, break up scar tissue or get rid of tendonitis. "Sha" is best defined as the red splotches or petechiae that appear on the skin from rubbing the spoon or tool repeatedly over the affected area. In Facial Gua Sha, a much lighter form of traditional gua sha used on the face and neck.  A light oil is applied and gentle strokes are made all over the face helping to increase circulation, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, move lymph and reducing puffiness in the face. Unlike normal Gua Sha, no marks are left during facial gua sha.

Craniosacral Therapy

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of a Craniosacral system, the complex membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch, generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in these membranes, fluids and cranial bones, thus relieving pressure and enhancing the function of the brain and spinal cord support system. Because it complements the body's natural healing processes and bolsters resistance to disease, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure. CST can be an effective treatment for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Rehabilitative, neuromuscular and trigger point therapy techniques are combined in this massage treatment to address acute and chronic pain as a result of injury, trauma, overuse, adaptation, and compensatory factors by layering into soft tissue using specific techniques to identify areas of imbalance with the intention of diminishing symptoms. Fascial work – a method intended to release unbalanced fascia or connective tissue – can be incorporated at the start of a session. Specific work can also be applied to scars and scar tissue when requested.

Intra-oral work is a specific neuromuscular treatment that addresses symptoms associated with Temporomandibular Joint disorders (TMJD), Tinnitus, jaw tension, trigger points, and specific headache patterns. The NMT therapist uses latex-free gloves to treat intra-oral tissue. Intra-oral work is not intended to substitute medical dentistry.
