Mindful Running Program: Presence in Movement

This is a time to quiet the mind and awaken mindfulness of your body, your thoughts, and the beautiful surroundings of Northeast Minneapolis. Learn to be mentally connected within your movement and to release the typical pressures of running -- and life. Join coach Barbara Powell, NBC-HWC for Mindful Running and have a one-on-one conversation with your body!

Guided Running Options (can vary): 4 mile loop or 2 mile out-and-back

If more miles are desired, runners may add onto the 4 mile loop.

Purpose of the run is to focus on elements of mindfulness, not necessarily speed or pace. Each class will focus on the elements of MINDFUL RUNNING:

* Presence
* Gratitude 
* Flow 
* Connection

Session includes:
Guided and focused breath work and visualization pre-run
Setting individual intentions for the run 
2 or 4 mile run 
Takeaway and discussion post-run


Barbara Powell, NBC-HWC is a board certified health coach specializing in Pain Management Coaching. She also offers emotional support to the community via SpeakEasy in Downtown Minneapolis. Barbara is a 9x Marathon runner, a 2x Boston Marathon Qualifier, and is certified in Group Fitness. Her own running centers around presence, gratitude, and finding her own sense of flow.
