Here are the general steps you can follow for scheduling an acupuncture appointment with private insurance coverage:

  1. Contact your insurance provider. Check your insurance policy or contact your insurance provider directly to understand your coverage for acupuncture. Some private insurance plans may cover acupuncture as part of their benefits while others may have specific requirements or limitations.

  2. Find an acupuncturist. If your insurance plan covers acupuncture, look for acupuncturists who work with your insurance provider. See the insurance companies accepted at NE Wellness on our Services and Providers page.

  3. Schedule an appointment. Once you have identified your coverage, mention that you have private insurance coverage for acupuncture when you schedule your appointment. Please provide them with your insurance information.

  4. Verify coverage and benefits. Before your appointment, it's important to verify your insurance coverage and benefits for acupuncture with your insurance provider. This can help you understand any co-pays, deductibles, or other out-of-pocket expenses you may be responsible for.

  5. Bring insurance information to your appointment. On the day of your appointment, bring your insurance card and any necessary information, such as your insurance policy number and group number, for our front desk staff.

  6. Payment and reimbursement. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be required to pay a co-pay, deductible, or other out-of-pocket expenses at the time of your appointment. Our front desk and office staff can typically help you with billing and reimbursement processes.

It's important to note that insurance coverage for acupuncture can widely vary depending on your specific insurance plan and provider. It's recommended to review your insurance policy and/or contact your insurance provider directly to understand your coverage and benefits for acupuncture before scheduling an appointment.
